WHAT IS FACIAL REJUVENATION ACUPUNCTURE? (PART 2 OF 2)

Updated: Aug 9, 2022

What is the Process?

At the beginning of your first visit we discuss your overall health, including any physical, mental or emotional issues in your life that you want to work on. We then evaluate the changes that you would like to see in your face and skin and we will discuss your goals and expectations.

We begin the acupuncture portion of our session with the insertion of tiny, sterile acupuncture needles into specific areas of the legs, feet, arms, hands, and finally, the face and neck. Typically, about 10-14 points are selected in the body and then, depending on your “areas of focus”, more are carefully added to the face.

Once the needles are in, you will rest for approximately 20-30 minutes. Most patients choose this time to nap or just simply clear their minds. I then remove the acupuncture needles and use micro-current to smooth out the fine lines and wrinkles. Finally, I use a dual-sided jade roller to soothe and moisturize the skin. In general, the treatments are very relaxing and take about 1.25 hours.

How do I get and maintain the best results?

In order to attain desired effects, a series of 5 to 10 bi-weekly Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatments are required. After completing a course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results. Maintenance sessions usually occur monthly for 2 to 3 months and then seasonally for as long as you wish to maintain results. I’ve also had patients request twice-daily appointments for one to two weeks before big events like a wedding, reunion, or vacation.

The proper self-care and Chinese herbal medicine is also required in order to gain and maintain the desired effects of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture.

What can I do at home to help?

Here are some easy self-care tips:

Wash your face, at least every day but not more than twice a day. A gentle cleanser is favored over a harsher one. Eat good, clean food with the least amount of junk or processing possible. Drink plenty of clean water throughout the entire day. And finally, exercise helps your body to detox as well as increases strength and cardiovascular health.

Why choose Facial Rejuvenation over surgery?

  1. Cost-effective

  2. Safe, non-invasive, no side effects

  3. Quick recovery time

  4. Improvement of overall health

  5. “Root and branch” treatment

With facial rejuvenation acupuncture, you don’t have to worry about recovering from surgery or side effects such as bruising or nerve damage. For many of my patients, the hour in treatment is all of the “me-time” that they have.

Why do I do this?

The most rewarding part of this process is when a patient asks me to improve their skin but then says, “My back is really sore, I’m so stressed out, and I can’t sleep. Can you help me with all of that too?” I emphatically say, “Yes!” That is the beauty of acupuncture and Chinese medicine
